Dina Mahmoud

Dina is a PhD candidate in Comparative Literature and Visual Studies. Her research investigates how contemporary visual arts and literatures about the civil conflicts in the SWANA region affect their readers. By more specifically centering selected works of art and literature about the Lebanese Civil War (1975-90) and Sudanese Civil War (1983-2005), her project explores how nonprofessional readers who witnessed the civil wars in their youth interpret and integrate the affordances of the different media with their own embodied experiences of the represented conflicts.
